The Counseling Center provides counseling to individuals, children, adolescents, couples, and families. Counseling scholarships are available. We also offer: Children in the Middle and For the Kids' Sake - Parenting classes for families experiencing a divorce. The goal of these programs is to help the children, not re-unify the couple. Anger Management - A 10 week, highly interactive program allowing participants to assess their anger, its roots, and plan for situations that are difficult to manage.

The Consumer Credit Counseling Service will (at no charge) assess your financial situation and help you establish budgeting goals and set-up a realistic budget. We also offer the debt management plan, which consolidates bills and helps participants regain control as they pay off their debts.

Sexual Assault Response Program: 24/7

SARP gives 24 hour face to face and help-line assistance to children, teens, and adults who have been sexually abused and/or assaulted. SARP is a major referral source for the criminal justice system, child protective services, forensics nurses, schools, and health care agencies. SARP offers direct victim assistance through an array of services from crisis intervention and advocacy during initial emergency room exams throughout treatment, court proceedings, support groups, and the overall recovery process. SARP also provides awareness and educational programs to area schools, businesses, allied professionals, and the general public.

Teen Talk: 24/7

Teen Talk is a help-line that provides youth with a place to receive non-judgmental answers to serious questions or concerns. Included in these concerns are issues regarding suicide, abuse, sex, sexually transmitted diseases, drugs, pregnancy, violence, and other issues that affect the well being of teens.

M-F 3:00-6:00pm.
Chatterline is a telephone service for all children of elementary age. It is geared for children who are home alone after school and need someone to talk to, a listening ear, or assistance with homework assignments. Chatterline is also for emergencies or for children who just want a safe place to check in. It provides reassurance, support services, and if necessary emergency help to young children who need a friend. Except in emergencies, these calls are anonymous and confidential.

TeleCare is a free call out program that serves area homebound residents. Caring workers provide daily phone contact to homebound or elderly residents to check on their physical and emotional well-being. TeleCare exists to help those who live alone feel secure in their independence.

Oxford Houses of Virginia is proud to announce the June 1st opening of Oxford House – Randolph-Macon, an eight bed self-run, self supported recovery home for women located at 2208 Rivermont Avenue, Lynchburg, Virginia. The women of Randolph-Macon will be operating on a shoestring budget while getting on their feet so any donation of household goods will would be greatly appreciated. Oxford House as a 501 (C) (3) non-profit umbrella organization any donation is tax deductible.
Oxford Houses of Virginia is excited to be expanding to meet the need in Lynchburg.
